Hi Leighton,
My client has a requirement to incentivise subscribers to 'renew' early (or upgrade their subscription term), and whilst unchecking the 'Enforce Single Subscription' setting will allow a user to purchase a further subscription, this would mean that they can potentially have multiple subscriptions running in parallel. It would be useful for me (and maybe others?) if the 'upgrade' subscription could start either immediately (as currently) or on a specified date (expiry date of existing subscription?). That way, site owners could offer inventives to renew (free stuff!), and improve long-term cashflow.
Is the functionality supported by PayPal and if so, would you be able to implement it?
Thanks

Jaybee,
The way Paypal handles subscription modifications is a bit confusing sometimes. There is no way to set a subscription to 'start' at a certain date in the future.
Basically, if the new subscription plan only changes the amount from the old one, then the new amount will be billed at the next billing cycle, but the role would be granted immediately.
If the new subscription plan changes the billing frequency, then the new amount would be billed immediately, and the role would be granted immediately.
Either way, the subscription plan seen in the User Account should immediately be changed to the new plan once the user has modified it. Is this not happening for you?
