Hi,
Is it possible to modify the module so that it fits with other online payment solutions than paypal?
I was planning to use paypal, but I have read so much bad things about what they can do so I am looking out for something else.

Yes, this is definitely possible with the new MS Core system. I'm working on a Tutorial right now which will go over how to make a Payment Gateway for the system, along with an example module.
