Would it be possible to offer a discount only when users extend their membership.
They can renew their membership at a discount 6 months out (half way through).
Yes, what you can do is set the coupon to have a Role Restriction, so that only users with a certain rule can use it. That way if the users try to extend their membership, they still have the role associated with the membership, so they can use the coupon. Hopefully that makes sense. You could even add a product restriction if you wanted so that the coupon only works for that membership.
