Re-buy after cancel and paypal history reset

Leighton,

 

Couple of things I'm seeing regarding the user account views that I think are not working very well:

 

First, I should specify that I am using Enforce Single Subscription.

 

On the user account view page, once the subscription is cancelled, I think the the Purchase Membership box should re-appear. With most subscription sites I've used, if I cancel my paid account and later decide to re-activate, the controls for that are generally expected to be in my account settings page. Obviously, a way around this is that the user could follow one of the original subscribe links, but if a site decides not to use those links and relies entirely on the Purchase Membership box in the user account page, then there is no provision for buying a new paid subscription.

 

Next, should a user cancel and then later sign up for a new subscription, the older transactions from the cancelled subscription in the Paypal History disappear and one is shown only the transactions related to the currently active subscription. Again, my expectation is that this view would maintain all transactional history for the user regardless of the active subscription.

Thanks for the input, I think you have two great points there and will put these on my features list for the next release!

As a side note, the reason for the first thing you mentioned MAY be that the subscription that was cancelled hasn't reached end of term yet, meaning that the user still has the role until the term runs out, so if a user pays for 1 month, they get 1 month, even if they cancel after 1 week (because they still paid for 1 month). I hope that makes sense. I will post back here tomorrow after I look into these two issues.
