Content Required Admin Approval

I have a content type that requires admin approval before a node is published and visible to the world. Will the Paypal Nodes module override these settings and automatically publish a node as soon as it is paid for, or will I be able to maintain control over this? Will the payment be processed as soon as the node is submitted/paid for, or only after admin approval, and if it a node is rejected by an admin is there a refund mechanism?

Free Content

Is there an option to offer a 'free' pay type. My plan is to offer the option of posting either regular content for free or paid 'featured' content that appears on the homepage and at the top of lists etc. Will creating a payment plan for "$0" suffice here or will I have to create a separate 'Free' content type?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

D, For the 'free content' use

D,
For the 'free content' use case, I would create a separate content-type for the free content, so that it is easier to track and manage with Views and other modules.
As for the admin approval, there is currently no way to do that with this module. I will add it to the feature request though, because it seems like this is a really good feature. I will get this in with the next release and set it as an option in admin to require admin approval or not.

Sincerely,
Leighton Whiting

D, I'm spending more time on

D,
I'm spending more time on the modules on this site in the coming week, getting new releases for all of them and adding new features. I'm releasing a new Paypal Subscriptions and Paypal Affiliates tonight, and I will shoot for this weekend for a new release for Paypal Nodes. I'm also working on a new module called Paypal Files, which allows you to sell Downloadable Files securely.

Sincerely,
Leighton Whiting

Free Content Level, Admin Approval

I'm wondering if the admin approval feature was ever added.  This sounds like a great feature suggestion and I'm sure it will be popular with many users.  Any updates?

Also, I'm about to buy the product and wanted to know if some roles are required to pay (authenticated), while others can be allowed to publish the same content type without payment required (editor).

Do I turn on or off the Pay to Publish at the content type level?  Your instructions don't explain how you turn on or off the use of Pay to Publish by content type.

Thanks!

Roles based permission (to

Roles based permission (to either publish for free or have to pay according to a set plan) seems important and would be part of integration with the membership module. The site I'm working on, we want the user to be able to buy a membership ($99 year) that allows posting unlimited ads, but we also want to offer the option of purchasing individual ads for $5. Hence, I'm using both Membership Suite and Pay to Publish. All good so far....

BUT, I've just run into the issue that a yearly subscription member, who should be able to post unlimited ads, is now having to pay $5 per ad, because their role cannot be set to publish.

Am I not configuring things properly, or do these different modules not actually integrate the way I assumed they would? If the latter, is there a workaround you could suggest?

Thanks....

The new version now adds a permission to allow roles to publish certain content-types for free. This allows you to better integrate Membership Suite and Pay to Publish.

The admin approval feature is now added.

There is also a new permission to allow for certain roles to publish the same content type without paying.

The Pay to Publish features are off by default unless activated for each content type.

Hi Leighton, it seems that

Hi Leighton, it seems that adding roles allowed to publish changes how the content type workflow should be set up. I think it should now be set to "Published" by default (used to be unpublished -- "Published" field unchecked), right? I just had a role which should be allowed to freely publish content (but which should not be allowed to administer nodes, so they don't see the workflow options during add/edit node) not be able to publish, because the default setting for the content type was unpublished. I set the default setting to published and they were then able to publish freely.

But, the role set for pay to publish needed to pay first before their node would be published. Which is how it should work.

I just bring it up to make sure I've got it right. Also, if this is true, you might need to update your documentation.

Zoosphere, Yes, that is

Zoosphere,
Yes, that is right. The content no longer needs to have the Workflow set to Unpublished, it will do this automatically. This is more intuitive and works better. So I will be updating the Documentation to reflect this.
