Affiliates Module Doesn't Appear to Work Properly

I installed and configured the affiliate module to work with an ubercart powered site and performed a test by using the affiliate link provided in my admin user account.  When I use that link in a new browser and proceed through the product purchase screens there is no credit given to the affiliate.  Did I miss a step?

UPDATE
I just manually assigned the affiliate to a user and performed another test purchase.  This time the credit was received so it appears to be something with the link.

Mullman, Was the purchaser

Mullman,
Was the purchaser someone who already had an account with your site? If that is the case, they won't be set as a referral. It only works for users who are referred to your site but don't already have an account...

Nope, new user

The way I tested was to copy the URL from the "affiliate" account user page in a Firefox session then paste it into a new IE session which had no user logged in.  I stepped through the checkout process and completed the purchase then switched back to my Firefox session logged in with admin capabilities to complete the order.  Then I checked my affiliate account and there was no credit for the purchase.  I also checked the new user's account settings and the "affiliate" field was blank.  Shouldn't that automatically get assigned to the affiliate from the link?

Mullman,
I've figure out what the problem was. Ubercart wasn't using the regular methods for creating a user, so I had to write a custom solution to make sure the affiliate is recorded and credited. It is working now, and I will be releasing it shortly in Affiliates Suite version 2.6

This issue is recurring

Since upgrading to version 6.x-3.0, my client is reporting this issue again. The referrals appear to be assigning but the affiliate's balance is not being credited after their referral makes a purchase. Any ideas?

Mullman,
Can you try upgrading to 3.1 and see if the problem is still there?

Sincerely,
Leighton Whiting
