Is it possible to set up a way so existing users can upgrade their memberships? For example, I have two tiers, one for 9.95pa and one for 25pa. Can I set it up so that the people who have paid 9.95 already can upgrade for the difference in price? If so what happens to the length of the subscription should they join,say, half way through the 9.95 membership cycle?
Is there an easy "Upgrade Here", button I can point existing users too?

If you are implementing Recurring Subscription membership plans (like $10/month, for example) it is easy for users to modify and upgrade their subscriptions, and the module will take care of it for you.
If you are using non-recurring memberships, there is currently no way to do it. If this is added, it would have to wait until after the new major versions, since it is in a feature freeze right now.

Thanks Leighton. I'm using recurring for both. If someone who signed up last november signs up for $10 for 12 month then upgrades to $25 for 12 months in february when does their new subscription expire?

One time for 12 months.
The way modifications work, as I recall, is that the users are immediately upgraded to the new role, and are charged the new amount at the next payment cycle. So this would be ideal for memberships that charge a certain amount multiple times, rather than a 1 time payment type of scenario.
I will add a feature request to allow for calculating remaining time and price when upgrading memberships to make it more flexible.

I like this idea. I'm also thinking about a workflow first giving a free trial, and then offering an easy "one click" solution to upgrade.
