I was wondering if this module gives an ability to have recurring payments

My payment plan for my site I build is supposed to be

xx dollars for one month (30 days)  non recurring

xx dollars for 30 days , and autorenewed till cancelled

It seems I can only creates plans that  either does not expire or  expires at a certain period of time

Ximiank, The functionality

Ximiank,
The functionality you are describing is in Membership Suite, but you are using Pay to Publish. They are meant for two different purposes.

  Membership Suite has

Membership Suite has recurring payments which is good. However, there is a point what ximiank is saying, also a node publishing plan can be recurring... for example, real estate agents may be willing to publish advertisements until something is sold etc. Actually, all recurring type payment plans are good for business. I like this idea.

Recurring Payments

I agree that Recurring Payments would allow the ad keeps running until the advertiser decides to remove it or until the credit card expires at which time the customer could get a reminder to update their card information.

The customer can now get a reminder email telling them to renew.  The difference is, that requires them to take an action to keep paying rather than an action to stop paying.  It would be better if the renewal happened automatically which would mean recurring payments.  I can see value in adding this feature to Pay to Publish.

Looking forward to the next update.

Thanks,
Jamie B

Jamie,
I agree that this is a valid feature. I will work on adding this to the next major release (Pay to Publish 4) which I hope to be publishing early March.

Is there any news on the inclusion of this feature in pay to publish? Leighton - you mentioned early March in a previous post?

This feature would be of great benefit to our customers.

Best regards,

Paul

Jacko, Yes, the feature is

Jacko,
Yes, the feature is definitely coming, I have a prototype of it working, but it won't be launching until after Membership Suite 6.0, so probably mid to late April. Sorry it's been taking so long, I had to rewrite most of the module code to make way for the multiple payment gateways system, which is a lot more robust and opens the way for some cool new features.

Hi Leighton, Just wondering

Hi Leighton,

Just wondering if you have an ETA for the P2P updates?

Sorry to keep nagging... :-)

Many thanks,

Paul

Yeah, it is getting close.

Yeah, it is getting close. There will be support for recurring payments, as well as a shopping cart that can be used to combine non-recurring products into one order. I'm also working on a way to pay to make a node sticky. I'm going to be working on it for the rest of the day today and tomorrow, and hopefully can get it released tomorrow night.

Sincerely,
Leighton Whiting
