I was trying to simulate all sorts of situations. One situation was a non automatic renewal. I artificially expired a membership by going into the admin account editing the membership for the user and clicking the expired box and entering a date in the past. Well everything happened hunky dory, the person went expired but then I found that there were two lines in the ms_memberships database:

Isn't it strange to have 2 entries in the ms_memberships database for the same person? I have a block that keeps displays for the user their current membership info and it keeps accessing the expired one.

Which database has the current membership status for an individual?

Connie, One of the

Connie,
One of the membership's status is 0. This means that the membership is expired. This is useful for users who want to Renew their expired memberships. Your block should do a check to make sure the status of the membership is not expired.
