Expiration Settings:
Publishing Length = 1
Unit = Days or Week or Years
no time added
It works only with months and add the expiration time.

I'm not able to reproduce the problem. Are there any other details you can give? I made a plan that publishes content for 1 day. It seems to working just fine.
