I want to provide a free membership plan available under Membership on the user account page.
However they do not show.
Paid for memberships do.
Is this a bug or have I missed something?

I'll look into this and see what I can come up with. It is possible that free memberships were only meant to show on the registration page, and are being hidden from the user page by default. If so, this should be made into a setting that you can set to turn it on or off.

I have ran into the same issue with free memberships not showing up in the account page. Is it possible with a MS settings now?
I need existing users to be able to select a free membership after the current membership expires.
Thanks!
Make sure that in the Plan Settings the 'Allow Roles' setting is either blank or includes the anonymous user, and also make sure the Show on Registration Page option is checked.

Leighton,
With a plan price of $0.00 and the settings enabled, the membership still does not show up where the user purchases a membership through their profile area.
All memberships with a cost are available except for the free. What can I do? Like you said before, the $0.00 amount is default to not show. Is this still the issue?
I see, I thought you meant it wasn't showing on the Registration page. For it to show on the user memberships tab in the user account, it needs to have the 'Show in User Account' set and the 'Allow Roles' option either needs to be not set or include authenticated users, and if you have the 'enforce single membership' option on then the user can't have an active membership or it won't show.

Check the Membership Plan's edit page to ensure that it is set to 'Show on User Account Page'. Also, check the 'Allow Roles' setting to ensure that authenticated users can 'purchase' it.
